The Fisherman’s Wife first started in 1960 when Jackson and May Reed-Stephenson bought a fish and chip shop in Halton, Leeds. A short time later, Tom Drakes in Cross Gates became their second outlet, before the jewel in the crown was opened – on George Street.

The Fisherman’s Wife is now located in The Food Court inside Leeds Market. You can take away or enjoy your fish and chips in our heated seating area.

All the food we serve is to the highest of standards, created using locally sourced ingredients where possible. We have a fantastic range of dishes available on our menu, so you will have no problem finding a dish you will really enjoy. Don’t forget we are now open late on Friday evenings, and remember to ask about our great offers available.
